Search and add royalty-free background music from Jamendo's library of Creative Commons tracks. Use the audio crop slider to pick the exact moment — perfect for a birthday song hook or festival intro. No copyright issues.
Every video exports at 720×1280 portrait (9:16) — the vertical shape used by Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and WhatsApp Status. Photos and short video clips, smooth Ken Burns animations, Hindi or English text overlays. Download and share instantly.
Making a video with this free online tool takes four steps. First, add your photos or short video clips from your phone or computer — even a single photo is enough. The tool automatically applies Ken Burns pan-and-zoom effects to each photo, turning static images into moving shots, and plays your video clips with their own sound. Second, and only if you want music, pick a track from the royalty-free library or use your own audio file. You can preview tracks and choose which part plays — useful when a birthday song has a perfect chorus in the middle. Third, type your message and a name, choose a text colour, and pick an animation style: static, fade in, slide up, or typewriter. Finally, click Create and the tool builds your MP4 video entirely inside your browser. Download it and post it wherever you like.
The output is a 720×1280 portrait MP4. There is no watermark. There is no upload to any server. Your photos and the final video never leave your device, and you do not need to create an account or provide an email address.
Reels are vertical 9:16 videos, which is exactly what this maker exports. Save the MP4 to your phone, open Instagram, tap +, choose Reel and pick the video from your gallery. The music you added here is already part of the file, so you do not need to add audio again in Instagram. Keep important text away from the very top and bottom of the frame, where Instagram places its own buttons and caption.
Any vertical video YouTube classes as short is published as a Short. Open the YouTube app, tap +, choose Upload a video and select the MP4. A photo slideshow with music works well for travel recaps, before-and-after photos and product showcases. If you plan to monetise the channel, use music you have the rights to — the tracks in the library here are Creative Commons, and each track's licence is shown on Jamendo.
Open WhatsApp, go to Updates, tap Add status and choose the video from your gallery. WhatsApp recompresses every upload, so the 720×1280 export keeps the file small without a visible loss in quality. If your video is longer than WhatsApp allows for one Status, the app lets you trim it or splits it into parts. This free WhatsApp status video maker has no watermark, so the Status shows only your photos and message.
Birthday is the most popular occasion for wish videos in India. To make a happy birthday video, select the Birthday occasion in Step 3 — it pre-fills the message with "हैप्पी बर्थडे!" in Hindi. You can change this to any English or Hindi message. Type the birthday person's name in the Name field and it appears over the video with the font colour and animation you choose. For a video that feels personal, use the typewriter or fade-in animation with the person's name — the text appears to write itself on screen.
For the music, search "happy birthday" or "celebration" and pick an upbeat track. The audio crop slider lets you start from the exact second you want — skip any slow intro and go straight to the energetic part. The finished video downloads as a clean MP4 with no watermark, ready to post as a Reel, a Short or a WhatsApp Status, or to send directly in chat.
The tool includes pre-set messages for Anniversary ("सालगिरह मुबारक!"), Diwali ("दीपावली की शुभकामनाएं!"), and New Year ("नया साल मुबारक!") — all in Hindi, so you can create festival videos without typing in Hindi manually. These templates are starting points: edit the message completely or switch to English. For Diwali or New Year videos, try your celebration photos paired with a festive track and the Slide Up text animation.
Anniversary videos work best with couple photos paired with a romantic music track. Add 3 to 5 photos from across the relationship. The Ken Burns effect creates a slow pan on each photo, which works especially well for portraits taken at weddings, trips, or special events. Add an anniversary message and the partner's name, choose a warm gold or white text colour, and use fade-in animation for a soft result.
This free short video maker uses FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly (ffmpeg.wasm), which runs the full video processing pipeline inside your browser tab using your device's CPU. No cloud server receives your photos or music. The video is assembled locally: photos are scaled and panned using Ken Burns filters and joined with short dissolves, video clips are fitted to the 9:16 frame, and your selected audio is trimmed to the part you chose. Text is burned directly into the video frames, so it looks the same on any device that plays the video.
On a mid-range Android phone or a standard laptop, a 10-photo video usually takes one to two minutes to make. Output is encoded as H.264 with AAC audio in MP4 format, which Reels, Shorts and WhatsApp Status all accept.
Is the Free Short Video Maker really free?
Yes, completely free. There is no paid tier, no watermark and no limit on how many videos you make. The background music comes from Jamendo, a Creative Commons music platform, and all tracks are licensed for free use.
Is there a watermark on the downloaded video?
No. The maker never adds a watermark. The MP4 you download is exactly what you composed — no id8 logo, no 'Made with…' overlay and no signup gate.
Can I use it for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts?
Yes. The video is a 9:16 vertical MP4 (H.264 video, AAC audio), which Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, WhatsApp Status and Facebook Stories all accept. It is exported at 720×1280; the apps recommend 1080×1920 for the sharpest result, and they accept 720p.
Can I add video clips as well as photos?
Yes. You can mix short video clips with photos in one video. Each clip keeps its own sound and can be trimmed, and a single photo or a single clip is enough to make a video.
How long can the video be?
The length depends on what you add. Each photo shows for 3 seconds by default, and you can set anything from 2 to 5 seconds. Each video clip plays for its own length, which you can trim. Ten photos make a 30-second video. Videos with clips can be longer, up to a size limit that depends on your device. Each app also has its own maximum length, so check it before you post.
What size and format is the video?
720×1280 pixels, 9:16 portrait, MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio. This is the vertical format used by WhatsApp Status, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. 720p keeps the file small and the making time short on a phone.
Can I add Hindi text to my video?
Yes. The maker includes Hindi text presets — 'हैप्पी बर्थडे!', 'दिवाली की शुभकामनाएं!', 'नया साल मुबारक!', 'शादी की सालगिरह मुबारक!' and more — so you do not need to switch keyboards. You can also type your own message in Hindi; the font supports Devanagari script.
Do my photos or music get uploaded to a server?
No. The maker runs entirely in your browser using FFmpeg.wasm (WebAssembly). Your photos, clips, music and the finished video never leave your device. The only network request is the search for music tracks and free images.
Will it work on a low-end Android phone?
Yes, with a caveat: the video is made by your phone's own processor, so it usually takes one to two minutes on a mid-range Android phone. If it is too slow, use fewer photos or shorter clips.
Can I add my own song?
Yes. In Step 2, press 'Use your own audio' and pick an MP3, M4A, AAC or WAV file from your device (up to 15 MB). If it is longer than your video it is cut to fit and fades out at the end; if it is shorter it repeats. The file never leaves your device.
Are the free images in "Find free images" free to use?
Yes. When you use Find free images, images are fetched from Pixabay — a platform that hosts over 4 million photos, illustrations, and vectors released under the Pixabay Content License. These images are free to use for personal and commercial purposes without requiring attribution, though we credit Pixabay here as a courtesy. Your own photos are yours entirely — they never leave your device.
Why does the page reload when I first open it?
On the first visit, the tool registers a service worker that enables Cross-Origin Isolation — a browser security feature required for WebAssembly multithreading. The page reloads once automatically to activate this. After that first reload, the tool works normally and will not reload again.
