How to Join Video Clips and Photos into One Video Online, Free

Last updated: October 2, 2026

Most real moments are a mix: a few photos and a few seconds of video. Joining them into one video used to need an editing app. It can now be done in a browser, on your phone, without uploading anything. Here is how.

Free, no watermark, no login. Clips and photos stay on your device.

What you can combine

  • Photos, up to ten. Each shows for 2 to 5 seconds with a slow zoom.
  • Short video clips. Each plays for its own length, which you can trim, and keeps its own sound.
  • One audio track, from the free library or your own file, across the whole video.
  • A message in Hindi or English over the video.

A single photo or a single clip is enough, and any mix works.

Step by step

  1. Open the Free Short Video Maker.
  2. Add files. Tap Choose files and select photos and clips together, or add them in turns.
  3. Put them in order. Drag items to rearrange them.
  4. Trim each clip to the part you want. Shorter clips make a better video and a smaller file.
  5. Set photo length for the photos: 2 to 5 seconds each.
  6. Choose Fit or Fill for any item that is not vertical.
  7. Add music, or leave it out if the clips' own sound is what you want.
  8. Add a message, then make the video.

Fit or Fill

The finished video is vertical, 9:16. Material in another shape has to be placed inside that frame.

Your itemFillFit
Vertical photo or clipCovers the frame, almost nothing croppedNot needed
Landscape photo or clipSides cropped heavilyWhole picture shown, soft background above and below
Square photoSides cropped a littleWhole picture shown

The maker picks automatically, Fit for landscape and square items and Fill for vertical ones, and you can change it for each item.

How long and how large

Photos add little to the size of a video; clips add a lot. The maker builds the video on your device, so it sets a size limit that suits your phone and tells you plainly if the items you added are too much. If you see that message:

  • Trim the clips shorter.
  • Remove the longest clip.
  • Use fewer items.

On a laptop the limit is higher than on a phone.

Sound: clips and music together

Clip sound and music are mixed. That is what you want when the clip has laughter or applause, and not what you want when it has traffic noise.

  • For clean music, use photos for the noisy moments instead of clips.
  • For a clip whose sound matters, such as a child speaking, consider leaving the music out so it is heard clearly.

Orders that work

Clip first. Movement in the first second holds attention. Then photos.

Photo, clip, photo. Alternating keeps the rhythm varied.

Clip last. End on the moment itself: blowing out the candles, the fireworks, the wave goodbye.

Common uses

  • Birthday: photos through the years, then a clip of the cake being cut.
  • Trip: a clip from the road, photos of each place, a clip of the view.
  • Wedding or function: entry clip, family photos, a few seconds of dancing.
  • Product or shop: photos of the product and a clip of it in use.
  • School event: group photos and a clip of the performance.

What you get

A vertical 720×1280 MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio and no watermark. It works as a WhatsApp Status, an Instagram Reel and a YouTube Short, and can be sent in any chat.

Frequently asked questions

Can I mix photos and video clips in one video?

Yes. Add them together and arrange them in any order. Photos show for 2 to 5 seconds each and clips play for the length you trim them to.

Do clips keep their sound?

Yes. Each clip keeps its own sound, which plays along with any music you add.

How long can the video be?

There is no fixed limit in seconds. The limit is the total size your device can handle, which the maker works out for your phone and shows you if you go over.

My clip was filmed sideways. What happens?

A landscape clip is fitted into the vertical frame. Choose Fit to show all of it with a soft background, or Fill to crop it to the full frame.

Are my clips uploaded?

No. Everything is processed in your browser on your own device.
